Land clearing and forestry mulching for New Berlin ground on both sides of the Sub-Continental Divide, including the rural west side on private wells.
Tell us about your New Berlin property — we’ll get right back to you.
Land clearing in New Berlin covers a city split by the Sub-Continental Divide. The divide runs north to south through the east side of the city. About 73% of the land lies west of it, in the Fox River watershed. The city's own plan describes a rural setting for the homes on its western half. Outside the utility service area, that western part of the city runs on private wells. Where fields and lot edges stop getting mowed, brush and saplings move back in. Where buckthorn gets a foothold, the DNR notes its dense shade stops tree seedlings from coming back.
Forestry mulching takes that growth down in one pass. Our purpose-built mulcher grinds brush, saplings and small to mid trees where they stand. Larger trees get cut and cleared first, and the mulch stays on the ground as cover. See forestry mulching on New Berlin brush and saplings. We work across the city, including Calhoun and Prospect. The city's storm water study counts more than 30 miles of year-round streams here. Poplar Creek and Deer Creek sit on the Fox River side, and the Upper Root River drains east. Around that work, we handle stump grinding, brush clearing, lot clearing and buckthorn removal. Bush hogging keeps fields and pasture open, and rough grading follows once the wood is off.
You might own a lot on the west side where a back acre has gone to brush. You might hold a wooded building lot and need it opened to the stakes. Or your yard backs onto a creek or pond, and buckthorn has filled the understory. Each of those starts with a free on-site estimate. We come out, look at what is standing with you, and talk through what stays and what goes. The price comes from that visit, and our price-match guarantee backs it. Near wet ground, we check the city's rules with you before any cutting starts. For ground in the City of Waukesha itself, see our land clearing page for the City of Waukesha.

Waukesha County Near water, New Berlin's own zoning applies. Waukesha County's shoreland zoning permits apply in the unincorporated towns, and New Berlin is a city. Its own C-2 Shoreland-Wetland Conservancy district exists to protect the ponds, streams and wetland areas of the city. The city's map of potential conservation lands also marks woodlands, slopes and Butler's garter snake habitat. Check with the City of New Berlin before clearing near a creek, pond or wetland. We work to whatever line the city sets. Wet ground turns up often here. Upper and Lower Kelly Lake sit in the southeast part of New Berlin. The city's storm water study also identified about 82 wetland areas. Near those, we keep the mulcher on firm ground and leave the mulch down as cover. Most soils here are silt loam, so heavy work waits for dry or frozen ground. In oak woods, we cut outside April through July, when oak wilt spreads most easily. Wisconsin classes common buckthorn as Restricted. Where it fills a woodlot, buckthorn removal across New Berlin takes it down low with the mulcher.
