Land clearing and forestry mulching for farm edges and lake lots around Genoa City, Pell Lake and Bloomfield.
Tell us about your Genoa City property — we’ll get right back to you.
Land clearing in Genoa City covers a village on the state line and the Bloomfield ground beside it. The village reaches into both Walworth and Kenosha Counties. Out in the Town of Bloomfield, farm fields cover about two thirds of the land. Parts of the East, West and North Branches of Nippersink Creek run through the town. The town's own land use plan counts more acres of wetland than woodland. Bloomfield also holds lake communities at Pell Lake and Lake Ivanhoe. Wherever mowing stops, brush and saplings take field edges and fence lines back. The DNR lists forest edges, open woods and lakeshores among the places invasive bush honeysuckle takes over.
Forestry mulching takes most of that growth down in one pass. Our purpose-built mulcher grinds brush, saplings and small to mid trees where they stand. Larger trees get cut and cleared first, and the mulch stays on the ground as cover. See what forestry mulching leaves on the ground. We work inside the village and across the Town of Bloomfield, out to North Bloomfield and Lake Ivanhoe. In the Village of Bloomfield, that includes Pell Lake and the Walworth side of Powers Lake. Stump grinding, brush clearing, lot clearing and buckthorn removal round out the work. On farm ground, bush hogging keeps fields and pastures open, and rough grading follows once the wood is off.
You might own a lot inside Genoa City with a back edge that brush has closed in. You might keep a lot on Pell Lake and want the understory opened under the trees you keep. Or you own farm ground in the Town of Bloomfield where a fence line has grown shut. Each of those starts with a free on-site estimate. We come out, look over the ground with you, and talk through what stays and what goes. The price comes from that visit, and our price-match guarantee backs it. If your lot faces Geneva Lake itself, see our clearing on the Geneva Lake shore.

Walworth County Which rulebook covers your clearing depends on the address. Inside Genoa City, the village code carries its own zoning and shoreline-wetland zoning chapters. Annexations since 2006 moved some town land into the village. The Village of Bloomfield, home to Pell Lake, incorporated after April 30, 1994. State law makes a village like that enact its own shoreland zoning. Its setback must reach at least 50 feet from the ordinary high-water mark. The Town of Bloomfield is unincorporated, so Walworth County shoreland zoning applies there. The county ordinance must keep a vegetative buffer at least 35 feet inland from the ordinary high water mark. Invasive removal can be allowed in that buffer, with replanting. Access and viewing corridors top out at 30 percent of the frontage or 200 feet, whichever is less. Check with the county or village hall before we cut near water. Wisconsin classes common buckthorn as Restricted, and its dense shade stops tree seedlings from coming back. Buckthorn removal includes a follow-up pass on the resprouts. Where oaks stand, we cut outside April through July, when oak wilt spreads most easily.
